Star was sitting in a swing alone in a park in the city lost in thought. Usually she's a hyperactive young girl around other, but when she's alone she tends to think about stuff too much. She was thinking about her twin brother, Miroku, like she always did when she was alone.
"How do I even know if he is still alive?" Star signed, "Well if he's dead?" She hated being alone because it hurt too much to think about those kind of things.

"Your even beautiful when your sad," Fate smiled as he approached Star. He had just finish talking to Cagalli, Mwu, and Murrue and was worried about Star since he had not seen her the whole day. He gently put his hands on the chains of the swing and begin to push Star on the swing set softly.
"So what the matter?" Fate asked.

She smiled when she heard Fate's soft voice. He could be lazy and careless most of the time, but he always knew the right words to make anyone feel better. He also always knew when something was wrong.
"It's nothing," Star laughed trying to hide her sadness from Fate.

"The little thing give you away," Fate continued pushing, "That's what an old friend of mine would always tell me." Fate paused for a short moment. "You don't have to tell mei if you don't want to," Fate said, "But know that I am here for you if you need to talk or even need someone to push you on the swings."

She smiled. There was one good thing that Star loved about Fate and that was he could be a real sweetheart at times. She had lost her brother, but found a great person. "Thanks Fate," She said, "I'm that I worried you."

"Don't mention it," Fate responded. He didn't say anything for a moment. "Today Miss Cagalli told me that there was an attack on ZAFT Armory One base by an unknown force," Fate paused, "I think there may be another war on the way."

"Is that so," Star responded, "I guess we're going to have to look after each other." She jumped from the swing set and landed on her feet. She walked over to a bench and gestured for Fate to sit next to her. It was the late afternoon and the sun never looked more beautiful. She smiled as she waited for him to come.

He nodded as he walked over and sat next to her. He didn't sit to close to her because he wanted her to have some space. "It's beautiful," Fate looked at Star.

"Yes," Star smiled, "The sun is really beautiful." She thought about when she was young and use to always watch the sunset from her room before going out and playing tag with her brother.

"I wasn't talking about the sun," Fate said, "I was talking about your smile." Fate turned his attention toward the sky. "I could stay here in this moment with you forever," Fate signed. He knew that they he would never really get this time alone like this with Star again once the war started.

She smiled and looked at Fate, "The same here," She said. She pulled herself closer to Fate and wrapped herself in his protecting arms. She found herself crying for some reason, "Promise me you want leave me," She said.

"You're even beautiful when you are crying," Fate smiled, "I promise i'll stay with you forever and more." He held her a little tighter in his loving arms.
"And I promise i'll protect you with my life," He thought.

"We should really get back to the base," Star said, "I'm sure maybe Cagalli or someone has some more information on this situation." She grabbed his hand and dragged him along back to the base. It was clear that she was her happy old self again.
