The Start of Something New

[Fate Lingod]

It was just like any normal day for Fate. Instead of doing what he was suppose to be doing, he was enjoying himself. "No one should find me here," Fate jumped in the back seats of one of the military's jeeps. He extended his body to lay flat across the seats with his legs hanging over the side of the jeep. "Now I can rest up a bit," Fate stared at the clouds in the sky, "Star want be back for a while." Everything was great, the only thing could go wrong was if one of his superiors walked pass and saw him slacking.

Just then, Cagalli happen to pass by to catch him off guard. She then crept up and tapped him on the shoulder. She looked at him and said, "This isn't a time to slack off Fate. Didn't hear about the Armory One Incident. Apparently one of ZAFT's newest ship was stolen along with 2 units. The worst thing is that no one has claimed responsibilty. Earth Alliance had no part in the attack," she said to him. She then took a deep breath as she was trying to maintain her calmness.

"Just five more minutes," Fate yawned. He slowly opened his eyes and realized it was Cagalli. "Oh... I'm so sorry," Fate tried to pull himself together, but ended up falling out of the jeep and straight on his face, "That hurt."

He quickly stood to his feet and saluted. "I'm sorry Miss Cagalli," Fate tried to find an excuse, "I was looking for something in the back seat of that jeep... I wasn't resting or anything like that.

"Great! Out of all the people to find me like this it had to be her..." He thought as he tugged on his goggles.

"That's alright," replied Cagalli. She then told him that is was breaking news that ZAFT has just informed them. She also received word that Murrue and Mwu are on the way. She then remembered Mwu was present there in Lacus' memorial serivice to the soldiers. "Mwu can tell us what is going on. He just arrived here from Aprilius," she said to herself.

Fate was relieved. "I heard about the whole incident with ZAFT," Fate said, "I found it hard to believe at first. Fate rubbed his neck before he spoke another word. "You say that the Earth Alliance has no part in this and we had no part in it also," Fate said, "It could be a new military group." Fate begin to think. Even though Fate is a slacker he can be serious at times.

"I can only come up with one conclusion," Fate tugged his goggles, "This new military group must have been hiding in the shadows during the wars and decided to make their apperance now... I could be wrong though."

[Cagalli Yula Athha]

Cagalli nodded with agreement. "You know you have a point Fate. This new regime some how got a hold of the outdated mobile suits from both Earth Alliance and ZAFT. Now they are using GuAIZ R as their primary faction mobile suit. This doesn't look good at all. Orb can be a target," she said to him.

Cagalli began to think again. She didn't want Orb to taken control of or being burned down as it did in the first war. She began to sigh.

Fate could see that tjis was worrying Cagalli. "Don't worry about it," Fate smiled, "I'm sure ORB will be alright and this whole incident will be over soon." He yawned as he looked up at the sky, wonder if another war was on its way.

[Mwu la Flaga]

Just then Mwu entered along with Murrue. Mwu saluted to Cagalli. "Hello there Miss," he said after saluting to Cagalli. He then looked at Murrue waiting for her to say something. He then smiled at Murrue.

[Murrue Ramius]

Murrue paused for awhile and quickly saluted as she saw Cagalli. "Hello Cagalli," she replied. She then talked to Cagalli about is going on and what she found out in the news. "Mwu has some more information on the matter," she said as she brought Mwu into the conversation.

When Mwu and Murrue appeared it seems that they really didn't notice Fate. He was use to this happening all the time and didn't mind. He hoped that they got the full attention of Cagalli so that he could sneak back into the back seat of the jeep again and continue sleeping. He slowly creepped away.

Mwu then placed his hand on Fate to hold him from going anywhere. "Hey, kid, I haven't seen you around here." he said to him.

Fate gave Mwu a cold stare and at the moment Fate really didn't like him. "What a drag," Fate said to himself, "I guess it can't be helped."

"Yeah, I kinda new around here," Fate said, "I use to be apart of ZAFT, but now i'm here with ORB."

[Mwu la Flaga]

Mwu looked at him knowing that he was given a cold stare. He smiled and continued on. "So were you with ZAFT in the last war?" he said.

[Cagalli Yula Athha]

Cagalli sat down while waiting for Mwu to finish. For as far back as she can remember Mwu has always been the laid back kind. She just sat there waiting for him to get done.

"Yeah," Fate answered, "Once the war ended I guess you can say I quit and joined ORB because I feel like this is my place." Fate stomach growled. He looked around and rubbed his head.

"I haven't ate in a while," Fate smiled.
