Since the user of the Shani Andras profile has been absent for some time I am making a separate account for the character since Shani is my downright favorite SEED character next to Auel Neider.
If anyone is against this, please let me know. I don't wish to offend anyone with it.

Personality : Shani is one of the three "Living CPU" assigned to operate one of the Earth Alliance's new Gundam mobile suits, GAT-X252 Forbidden. As with his comrades, his personal data has been erased from the military's records. While piloting Forbidden, the antisocial Shani prefers to fight alone without his teammates interfering, and between missions he puts on his headphones and blocks out the outside world by listening to music. His hair, which usually covers the left side of his face, conceals the fact that his eyes are different colors. However, his attitude outside of battle besides being quiet, is rather polite and well mannered, hiding a soft spot within the pilot. He found a strange obsession with Orb's chief representative, Cagalli Yula Atha, and he sees the later "Extended" as his older siblings.
History :
At the battle of Orb, Shani, Clotho Buer, and Orga Sabnak, were decimating Orb's forces. He then attacks and destroys a battleship. When Kira Yamato, piloting the Freedom arrives, he and his comrades attack and overwhelm Kira. They almost win, until Athrun Zala (piloting the Justice) arrives. Unfortunately, Shani and his fellows began suffering the withdrawal symptoms that made them Extended, forcing them to withdraw from the battle to regain the necessary drug to subdue the withdrawal. On the next day attack Orb until Kira arrives, then Athrun comes and balances the battle. That same day they all chase the Kusanagi, until the Freedom & Justice blow them away.
Shani survived the later battle against the 3 Ship Alliance and ZAFT that claimed the life of his comrades by being forced out of his cockpit before the Duel Gundam pierced through it. Leaving him nearly lifeless and drifting in space for almost an hour before he was recovered by the Earth Alliance Forces. Being given a new mass produced version of the Forbidden Gundam, he is once again unleashed upon ZAFT and Orb.

It's not so much as he thought of her as an extended, he just considers her very pretty. It's kind of along the lines of when you see that person, it's very comforting to see them. And I imagine one time in orb he would have noticed one of her speeches, or noticed her on a broadcast, and there you go. Instant fanboy-ism.
Lol that's a real word now, I'm patenting that.
